What is Wood Paint?

Wood Paint is a paint developed for interior wood surfaces. The paint is designed for easy applications with a brush and/or roller and provides a smooth and even finish. DETALEs Wood Paint is a quality paint developed by Flügger Group. The product is therefore supplied in packaging labelled Flügger Strongfinish. Which surfaces can Wood Paint be applied to?

The Wood Paint is developed for interior wood surfaces. The substrate must be clean, dry, firm, and suitable for painting. The surface should be lightly sanded before application to create an even substrate and ensure good adhesion.

Can Wood Paint be used on furniture?

Yes, the Wood Paint is suitable for interior wood surfaces, including furniture. For the best possible result, make sure the surface is clean, dry, firm, and properly prepared with a fitting primer before application.

How do I prepare the surface before applying Wood Paint?

The surface must be clean, dry, firm, and suitable for painting. Lightly sand the surface with fine sandpaper, grit 120–180, to create an even substrate. Apply a suitable wood primer for interior use to ensure even coverage and a durable finish.

Remove any dust and wipe the surface thoroughly with a damp cloth. Once the surface is dry, apply masking tape along the edges to protect surrounding areas.

How is Wood Paint applied?

The Wood Paint is applied with a brush and/or roller. Apply the first coat using long, even strokes, starting along the edges and working across the surface. On wider surfaces, a small roller can be combined with a brush to achieve smooth and even coverage. Apply thin, even coats and allow each coat to dry before applying the next.

Apply the second coat using the same technique to ensure full coverage and an even finish. Once the final coat is dry, carefully remove the masking tape to achieve sharp and clean edges.

How long does it take to apply Wood Paint?

The Wood Paint is applied in 2 coats to ensure full coverage and an even finish. It takes approx. 6h to dry. Allow the first coat to dry properly before applying the second. The drying time may vary depending on the temperature and humidity.

How many m² does Wood Paint cover?

2.8 L of Wood Paint covers approximately 12 finished m², including 2 coats, while 0.7 L of Wood Paint covers approximately 3 finished m², including 2 coats.

Does Wood Paint require a primer or additional surface treatment? Yes, we recommend applying a suitable interior wood primer before applying the Wood Paint. The primer helps ensure even coverage and a durable finish. No additional surface treatment is required after the final coat of Wood Paint.

Can Wood Paint be used in bathrooms and wet rooms?

Wood Paint is an interior paint that is not wet room certified. Therefore, DETALEs Wood Paint is not recommended in shower areas or on surfaces that are in direct contact with water.

Can the Wood Paint be repaired and maintained?

The Wood Paint is a quality wood paint with a gloss level of 20 that is also washable. Minor marks can often be removed with a damp cloth, and the surface can be cleaned with mild cleaning detergents. You can also paint over marks that cannot be washed away. DETALEs Wood Paint is washable, but we recommend avoiding abrasive sponges and strong cleaning products.

How does Wood Paint differ from KABRIC and KC14?

Wood Paint is a paint without texture, developed for interior woodwork. KC14 and KABRIC are both products that create textured and tactile surfaces, but they differ from Wood Paint and from each other in terms of appearance, application technique, and drying time.

Is the Wood Paint environmentally certified?
